Pitch night!

06.03.23

Aurora Impact recently hosted a pitch night for Cohort 5 Startup Entrepreneurs, which showcased the innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit of 17 active startups. Out of these, five impressive businesses were selected to pitch their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges.

The selected businesses, which spanned a range of sectors including food and beverage, bio-energy, and agro-processing, were Greentech Bio-energy , Indulge , Mamawa Muyenga Agro processing, Augumac Farms and Jeneba Catering. The esteemed panel of judges are all part of the Aurora Impact Advisory board, Ólafur Ólafsson, who is also the Chairperson of the board of Aurora Foundation, Susie Cook, Regina Bjarnadottir, who also is the Executive Director of Aurora Foundation, and Maryam Darwich.

Each participant delivered high-level pitches, making it a challenging decision-making process for the judges to select the winner of the Le100,000 prize for improving their business. Despite the tough competition, the panel was impressed by the passion and innovation displayed by all the participants.

We want to extend a big thank you to all the Cohort 5 startups who participated in the Pitch night, making it an enthralling and inspiring event. This event marked an important milestone in the Aurora Impact startup program, which supports the growth and development of young entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone.

The winner of Aurora Foundation’s pitch night was Mamawa Muyenga Agro processing, follow their business here!
