Cohort updates!

27.09.21

Aurora’s office is back in full swing again after a calm rainy period. Behind the scenes, however, a lot has happened over the past months at Aurora. Suzanne and Samuel have been working on amending the pre-accelerator programme (which you will read soon more about!), and Regina and Makalay have been working with our artisans on our long-term strategy.

With regards to cohort 3 of our pre-accelerator programme, we are also excited to announce some developments!

BREathe Yoga & Wellbeing

While some of us rather avoid going out in the rains, the team of BREathe Yoga & Wellbeing has certainly not! This summer they have secured their yoga studio, located at the National Stadium, where they are now teaching yoga classes on a daily basis. They have also been working on creating their business plan and their social media presence together with Samuel at Aurora Foundation’s office.

Also exciting things happening for Hickmatu, as she has ensured her first exhibition at the Swiss Hotel in Freetown on the 30th of September (tickets are sold via Swiss Hotel directly). During this summer, she pitched her business during the EWC National Finals, worked with Samuel on her set goals, and did a number of photoshoots for, amongst others, the BREathe Yoga & Wellbeing team (see photo above).

Youth Empowerment Forum

While both founders have been busy with running the business in Kono and university in Freetown, they have managed to keep their programme running. They currently have the 2nd group of students enrolled in their life skills programme and are planning their third group to start in the beginning of next year.
