Been Frank – Sustainability in Fashion

15.01.24

We are thrilled to share the exciting highlights of the recent “Been Frank” Fashion Extravaganza, a spectacular event that unfolded at Decode Bar and Restaurant on the Lumley Beach on the evening of January 14th. The Aurora Foundation proudly sponsored this event, continuing our commitment to supporting creative endeavors that promote sustainability and cultural exchange.

At the heart of this event was Franklin, Sierra Leone’s top stylist and fashion icon, whose innovative approach to fashion revolves around upcycling and sustainability. For several years now, Aurora Foundation has had the privilege of sponsoring Franklin’s endeavors, recognizing his dedication to promoting eco-friendly practices in the fashion industry.

The event not only showcased Franklin’s upcycled creations but also provided a platform for cultural exchange and experience sharing. Attendees included Aurora’s management team, visiting professors, and students from Listahaskoli Islands Iceland University of Arts. This diverse audience added a unique flavor to the event, fostering connections and collaboration among artists.

The “Been Frank” Fashion Extravaganza was a blend of creativity, entertainment, and cultural enrichment. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a sip and paint open boutique, where upcycled clothes became canvases for artistic expression. The night was further enriched by musical performances from both local and international artists, creating a harmonious atmosphere that resonated with the spirit of the event.

Karaoke performances by attendees added a delightful touch, and the dance performance by the “Amazing Dancers Group” brought the crowd to their feet. DJ Sphongo, with his eclectic mix of music and spoken word performances, ensured that the energy remained vibrant throughout the night.

The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the fashion show performance. Franklin’s upcycled creations graced the runway, surprising and captivating the audience with their beauty and innovation. The use of sustainable recycled materials showcased not only Franklin’s talent but also highlighted the importance of eco-conscious fashion.

As the final crescendo of the night, the fashion show left a lasting impression on the attendees, reinforcing the message that fashion can be both glamorous and environmentally responsible.

The “Been Frank” Fashion Extravaganza was a night to remember. The fusion of art, music, and sustainable fashion created an unforgettable experience for everyone present. We extend our gratitude to Franklin for his remarkable contributions to the fashion industry and to all the attendees who made this event a resounding success.

Stay tuned for more exciting initiatives from the Aurora Foundation as we continue to support and celebrate creative expressions that make a positive impact on our world.
